Indoor Activities for the Chilly Winter Months

Too cold outside for your child to play? Here are some fun indoor activities to keep your family engaged!

Fake Snow:

Is your child not a fan of playing in the cold snow? Here is a fake snow recipe that you can make in the warmth of your home! All ingredients can be found around the house.

What you need:

  • 1 cup of baking soda

  • 1 cup of shaving cream

  • Water

  • Fork

  • Bowl

  • Tray

Directions:

  1. Mix the 1 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of shaving cream in a bowl

  2. Use a fork to mix the ingredients together

  3. Add several drops of water to the mixture

  4. Continue to stir until snow-like texture is formed

  5. Pour completed mixture on to tray

  6. Enjoy your indoor snow! Try making a snowman or two!

Edible Jewelry:

Want a fun and easy craft for your child, but worried they might try to eat it? This edible jewelry activity is fun and safe to eat!

What you need:

  • Licorice candy laces

  • Yarn

  • Cereal (E.g. Cheerios, Fruit Loops, etc.)

  • Candy (E.g. Life Savers)

and productive? A sensory bottle is a simple and great way to

 engage your child!

What you need:

  • Plastic water bottle

  • Glitter

  • Marbles

  • Orbeez

  • Beads
